Purified Linseed Oil is the most drying and resistant oil for painting. It does, however, tend to yellow over time. Best used with dark or low-drying colors (yellow, red, green, earth, black).

Why use flaxseed oil?
Linseed oil is appreciated for all colors that are not very sensitive to yellowing, especially the less drying ones (ivory black, for example). Clever use of linseed oil can most often balance its clear tendency to yellowing.
