What is watercolor?
Watercolor is a water-based paint in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments. It is packaged in a small cup or tube. It is diluted with water to give incomparable transparency effects.
The watercolor is used on paper intended for this purpose. Find the different watercolor papers on our website. Watercolor is particularly appreciated for its finesse and softness .
How to use watercolor?
Watercolors can be used on blank paper, directly with a brush. You can also make a light pencil sketch beforehand.
White is the white of the paper. You can protect your "white" by putting paraffin in the chosen places or masking gum. This will preserve the places you want to keep bright white!

Which medium to choose?
Paper is the main medium for watercolors, although canvases have now been sold for a few years. The paper used for watercolor is a minimum paper 200 g / m 2 It is quite a thick paper because it must be able to withstand the water that will be applied without the paper curling. We also usually choose a little grainy because this gives better results when the pigment is deposited. But watercolor can be used on smooth paper if desired.
