It was in 1832 that the chemist William Winsor and the artist Henry Newton brought together the knowledge to offer an unprecedented choice of color , clarity and permanence . They first developed watercolors, then other innovations, such as white watercolors and the tin tube.

Winsor & Newton are known and distributed worldwide. Their color range extends to acrylic, quick-drying oils, water-dilutable oils.
